Telstra has announced it will be offering free standard calls from Australia to 10 countries in the Middle East affected by the conflict.

Countries eligible for free calls

Free calls will apply to standard fixed‑line and mobile calls made from Australia to the following destinations:

  • Bahrain (+973)
  • Iran (+98)
  • Israel (+972)
  • Kuwait (+965)
  • Lebanon (+961)
  • Oman (+968)
  • Palestine (+970)
  • Qatar (+974)
  • Saudi Arabia (+966)
  • United Arab Emirates (+971)

 Eligible plans and services

 Telstra, Boost Mobile and Belong customers on pre-paid, upfront mobile plans and Telstra landlines are all eligible.

“Due to the evolving situation, telecommunications infrastructure in some areas may be disrupted, which could affect call connectivity,” said the telco. “Customers can also use messaging apps and data services where available to stay in touch.”
